Our Owner

About

Penny is the owner and director of Home-Stay Assisted Care. She is responsible for day-to-day operations including supervision of staff, and assuring that client and family needs are met.      

Penny completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Washburn University of Topeka, Kansas, in 1987. She has experience in many areas of nursing and started her nursing career on a cardiac step down unit at a large hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She later gained valuable nursing experience while employed on a hospital Medical/Surgical unit. 

Penny began serving the senior population in 1990, when her husband’s career required their relocation to Manhattan, Kansas. She began employment at a large retirement community and later, assisted their opening a home health agency. In May of 2015, having served several years as the community’s home health director, Penny announced that she would be leaving her position.

“My husband of 30+ years retired and we moved to our beloved Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. We have two wonderful children. During my experience with the home health agency, I discovered where my passion was and I wanted to continue to serve seniors in their homes.”

“I have observed and experienced different home health industry styles and business models. My goal is to stay small and stay focused on providing the utmost quality of assistance to Home-Stay Assisted Care clients.”
